Urgent Response Needed Tomorrow In Topeka

Tuesday May 20th,  the Topeka City Council will consider two very controversial proposals.

  1. Domestic Partnership register in the city of Topeka
  2. A new protected class of “gender identity” in the City’s hiring and affirmative action ordinance.

The first would create a marriage substitute in Topeka allowing homosexual couples to obtain a legal document from the city recognizing their partnership.

That means homosexual partnerships will be granted the same benefits of marriage within the city of Topeka.

The second “gender identity” would mean offering health care benefits and certain protections included in affirmative action to individuals who have self determined their gender.

What can you do to prevent this from happening in Topeka?

Rise Up Oh Men of God….Rise Up Oh Women of God

Take your stand on the wall for righteousness.

Attend the Topeka City Council Meeting Tuesday May 20th

Gender Identity

This scene above is starting to happen in hundreds of cities and states across America.

Kansans, what will we do to stand up for what we believe?

On August 12, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law Assembly Bill (AB) 1266, the bill giving students claiming to be transgender the freedom to participate on opposite-sex athletic teams and all other gender-specific public school activities of the opposite sex.  Boys and girls in California get to decide whether they feel like a boy or a girl and depending on their choice.  According to the California Family Alliance any student from Kindergarten through 12th grade who refers to him or herself as the sexual opposite of their biological gender, to participate in gender-specific school activities, clubs, and sports teams, with full access to opposite-sex bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, etc. This literally means that a boy may declare himself a girl and by so doing may participate on the girls’ tennis, soccer, or water polo teams, as examples, and use the same locker facilities.

Do you want these types of laws coming to Kansas as they are now enforced in California, Arizona, Delaware and many more?

Christians in Kansas need to be prepared to be on the offensive when it comes to our laws and ordinances voted on in our communities. Topeka successfully passed an ordinance by adding “sexual orientation and gender identity” to the express list of targets for the elimination of prejudice within the City of Topeka. Since the victory for sexual orientation ordinance in Topeka, threats have come forth in Wichita and I’m sure other areas we’ll hear about soon.

It’s time for Christians to stop being politically correct and as Dr. Ben Carson says, get some backbone and speak up for the protection of our rights, freedoms, and families.

It’s time to educate yourself and then help your local city council. Let them know that you will be contacting the Alliance Defending Freedom organization to get prepared. In Manhattan, they did an outstanding job articulating the issue and winning. Parents and grandparents please don’t think you can ignore this problem. It’s not going to go away and we must get in the battle.  It’s not too late for Topeka, but it’s much easier when we’re not reacting, but are on offense because we’ve prepared and educated ourselves.

Don’t sit on the sideline and let this continue to happen in OUR state.

Alliance Defending Freedom is a servant ministry building an alliance to keep the door open for the spread of the Gospel by transforming the legal system and advocating for religious liberty, the sanctity of life, and marriage and family.

Recognizing the need for a strong, coordinated legal defense against growing attacks on religious freedom, more than 30 prominent Christian leaders launched Alliance Defending Freedom in 1994. Over the past 18 years, this unique legal ministry has brought together thousands of Christian attorneys and like-minded organizations that work tirelessly to advocate for the right of people to freely live out their faith in America and around the world.

Religious Freedom Is Under Attack in Kansas

Topeka council OKs sexual orientation ordinance!
Unfortunately, Topeka didn’t have enough Christians on their city council, or Christians to testify against this ordinance.

Now, do you believe that we need Christians in politics?
Pastors & believers must unify and testify.
Alliance Defending Freedom stands ready to assist.

Are the believers in Topeka unaware of what this means?  Do they know the cases across the nation where Christian businesses have closed down because they refused to compromise their principles?  Are they unaware that this ordinance can force a Christian bakery to close or compromise their religious freedom to make a wedding cake for a homosexual marriage or civil union?

In a YMCA a transgendered male can use the women’s locker room, take showers etc.
California recently passed a similar ordinance and now the little boys and girls get to choose what sex they feel like on a given day and can then use either restroom in their schools.  That is where this leads. This is not HATE to stand against this ordinance, it’s love and protection.
Do you remember the dark cloud that hung over Manhattan, four years ago, when we battled against this same ordinance? I was in Manhattan working with Pastors to stand against this very same ordinance.  If you’ll remember the ordinance did pass, but two months later, when the city council was up for re-election, they voted in Christians that revoked the ordinance immediately.
What I admired about the Manhattan Pastors group is that they accomplished their goal without hate, but in love.  We held a rally where a young man gave testimony about coming out of this lifestyle.  Many of the homosexual activist came in toward the end and were moved to begin a dialogue. It can be done in love.
