“Arise, For this matter is your responsibility. . .”

No matter our age, the Lord will use us if we will be intentional in prayer. Caleb was 85 years old when he asked Joshua for the mountain with the largest giants, saying, “I went to this mountain 45 years ago and told Moses, I was not afraid. Now, give this mountain to me for I’m still strong.”  He conquered the giants and Hebron was his.

We have giants in our land….political correctness, homosexual marriage, abortion, immorality, etc. However, the Lord is with us and mighty to save.

He said, “Arise! For this matter is your responsibility, but we will be with you, be courageous and ACT.” Acts 18:9-11, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you…” Remember War Room, writing down your specific request in sticky notes and posting them where you pray?  Together we can see the glory of the Lord in our families and our nation.

Go See The Movie “War Room”

The movie War Room starts THIS Friday!

Miss Clara, challenges all of us to step into a War Room, which is her prayer closet. She says, “Lord, Call Us to Battle! Lord we need an army of believers who will learn to fight on our knees! Raise them up Lord.”

Is the enemy coming after your family? Has cancer, disease, injury come to your? It’s time for believers to learn to FIGHT. Let”s wage a WAR against the enemy. I encourage you to go to this movie.  Please pass the word, take your friends and family.  I’m saddened that the Church Prayer meetings don’t seem to be a priority to the Bride in general.  If we were seeing the power of the Lord released, churches would be over flowing and demanding prayer meetings come back.  The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us today.

Phillipians says, “That I might know Him and the power of His resurrection being made like Him in His death.”

Cry Out America LOGO Cry Out America
Join with others to pray for our nation!  We will not forget the Twin Towers or Benghazi!
Gather at your court house, your prayer meetings or city buildings!

Although August brings the thoughts of school starting, it’s not far from the anniversary of 9.11.  I’m the state director for “Cry Out America,” a group that encourages all Americans to gather at their local court house on 9.11 to follow through with our commitment to “Never Forget.” Now is the time for you to prayerfully consider answering the call to organize your county.  In Kansas there are 105 counties and we would love for you to please consider doing this.

Cry Out America is patriotic, traditional, and Biblical.  Calling our nation to pray on this memorial of the horrific day when America was attacked on her own soil is essential. In addition to the twin towers, we also will never forget Benghazi. The Lord Jesus detests hands that shed innocent blood.  Join this historic prayer movement – Every state, every county, every church, every heart.

When Jesus Prayed

When we are traveling and away from home, I still go to weather.com to check on the weather.  When the storms of life come, I have another site I visit…it’s called the THRONE ROOM.  I’ve lived enough of life to know that He is always there, waiting, watching, longing for our time and attention.  It’s because He loves us and has so much He wants to teach us and give us.  Power…overcoming power is ours for the asking.

Today in our reading of scripture in Hebrews is talked about a time when Jesus was in the midst of a crisis.

It says, “In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers, and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.  Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.” Hebrews 5:7-8

The National Day of Prayer is May 7th and it is a time for us, united in Kansas to stand together and cry out to the Lord.  Teach us O Lord to obey.

It’s Official, Prayer Works

By a Joint Resolution of the 100th Congress on January 25,1988, a NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER was declared to be the first Thursday of each May. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, that the joint resolution entitled Joint Resolution to provide for setting aside an appropriate day as a National Day of Prayer, approved April 17, 1952 (Public Law 82-324;66 Stat. 64), is amended by striking a suitable day each year, other than a Sunday and inserting in lieu there of the first Thursday in May in each year.

It’s Official…what can your city do?

Here’s an example, in Leoti, Kansas they start the day at 7 a.m. at the town flag pole.   At the public school the children pray over the police, the fire department, the Mayor, and city officials. At the public square  they read the Word of God andpray.   The night before there is a Youth Rally for Prayer.  A dinner, a speaker, and the youth pray.  One year they had the Rachels Dad from Columbine.

How about you?

Let’s begin to think about how you would like to impact the world around you.  What is the Lord calling you to do?

Forgiveness & Purpose

The majority of people at The Response in Louisiana were under 50 years of age. Reinhardt Bonke said …”There’s a new generation rising”. The over 60 pastors called forth the young people and asked their forgiveness. They asked forgiveness for trying to put them in a religious mold. Then, the younger generation turned to the older generation and said, we have watched many of you and learned from you. Forgive us for not following. We speak a blessing over the older generation. Forgive us for how we shut down, and closed that valve of our heart and stopped the flow of the anointing in our churches and in our nation. We are choosing today to open that valve and we want the full release of that anointing to flow into our culture. Thank you for calling us into our identity and our purpose. Thank you for praying for us. We thank you for your integrity and thank you for the love you have had for us. Thank you for not rejecting us.

Kansas…let’s call forth that next generation to go further into the Kingdom, that we have.

The Response

Tomorrow, Governor Bobby Jindal is calling the nation to prayer.  The Response is being held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.   Two of my best friends Barbara and Phillis, are there now and will bring back a report and an anointing to spread to Kansas. One of the organizers has a vision for 1,000 Pastors and Ministry Leaders to run for office in 2016. There will be a day long meeting to share the vision on Friday.

There will be many opportunities this year for prayer gatherings in Kansas.  We are just a little over 3 months away from the National Day of Prayer and at the end of that month a statewide Holy Convocation will be held in the center of our state. Don’t forget our weekly statewide prayer calls on Tuesday mornings at 6 a.m.  They only last 15 min, but they are power-packed.

Prayer is the first step to miracles.  The Lord says, that we will find Him when we seek Him with all our hearts. Kansas has a righteous leader who is calling for prayer and revival and I believe prayer will prepare us for the Harvest.

All prayer is appreciated as we lift up our State, Nation and Israel to the King of Kings.  We pray for wisdom, unity ad integrity of purpose and against any schemes of the enemy.

Prayer On The Hill

Let’s begin 2015 with expectation and look forward to see the faithfulness of the Lord.

Psalm 5:3 says, “Morning, by morning, oh Lord you hear my voice. Morning by morning, I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

“What are you expecting this year?

God said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you. Do not FEAR little flock for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” Now, how to we apply that? He said, “Seek Him FIRST.” Culture Shields motto is Touch Heaven…Impact Earth. We believe it’s about prayer & action. How are you going to increase prayer? What action steps will you take to change the culture?

We invite you to come to Topeka on January 12th for Prayer on the Hill…a day of prayer to start the legislative session. Please join us as Governor Brownback will be sworn in at 10 a.m. and prayer walks will take place throughout the day.

Where Do You Pray?

The National Governors Prayer Team Conference began in Florida the day after the election.  As the Kansas Team Leader I attended and was very blessed to hear Doug Small teach for 3 days on prayer.  He was encouraging us as leaders to have prayer room in our home.  I have a few favorite places to pray around the house including a screened in porch in spring, summer and fall. However I was convicted to come home and set one designated spot in my home for prayer.

He was so right.  It’s now a place for me to just “BE with God… to renew, refresh, refocus, rest, regain, reclaim and most of all restore my intimacy with my Creator. It’s away from distractions.  I sense His presence so clearly as I sit at His feet. I would encourage you to “gift” yourself with a prayer room.

Next week Governor Brownback will have a Thanksgiving proclamation I’ll be sharing that next week. Also, don’t forget our weekly 15 min. prayer call each Tuesday morning at 6 a.m.  Last week’s was powerful and I would enourage you all to join.
