Prayer On The Hill

Let’s begin 2015 with expectation and look forward to see the faithfulness of the Lord.

Psalm 5:3 says, “Morning, by morning, oh Lord you hear my voice. Morning by morning, I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

“What are you expecting this year?

God said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you. Do not FEAR little flock for it is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” Now, how to we apply that? He said, “Seek Him FIRST.” Culture Shields motto is Touch Heaven…Impact Earth. We believe it’s about prayer & action. How are you going to increase prayer? What action steps will you take to change the culture?

We invite you to come to Topeka on January 12th for Prayer on the Hill…a day of prayer to start the legislative session. Please join us as Governor Brownback will be sworn in at 10 a.m. and prayer walks will take place throughout the day.

Praying for Kansas

Yesterday was the beginning of the legislative session in Kansas. Over 100 people from across the state gathered to say to our Kansas leaders, “We are here and we’re praying for you.” As we gathered in the Old Supreme Court Room, worshiped and prayed.

Representatives and Senators came in one by one to be prayed for.  We prayed for wisdom, courage, their families, and the future of Kansas.  There was much prayer for the children of Kansas.  We asked the Lord to make the home the spiritual center of our nation.  We also prayed for Mothers and Fathers to take responsibility to disciple their children.

Citizens who hadn’t been in the capitol since it’s renovation went into the House and Senate Chambers to pray.  The Rotunda is beautifully refurbished, and we believe it symbolized a new beginning for Kansas. Kansas has lower taxes, highest revenue ever, increasing jobs (1,000 each month were reported),  numerous new families are moving into Kansas from 3 of the 4 surrounding states. Kansas is on the rise, and we assured the legislators that we will continue to pray.

Prayer On The Hill

You still have time to make plans to come to Topeka next Monday the 13th for the annual Prayer on the Hill.  It kicks off the first day of the legislative session.  It’s our duty to know how our government works, and it’s a great opportunity to meet many of our representatives and the governor and pray for them, our state and our nation.

Come to the capitol on Monday and go to the 3rd floor to check in.  There will be worship beginning at 8 a.m. A prayer walk at 10 a.m., praying for the Governor at noon and then a workshop  on releasing prayer & fasting in Kansas from 2:30 – 4 p.m. in room 112 N.

This is not your only chance to come and pray at the capitol as prayer goes on each day during the legislative session.  God says, “you are the light of the world, You are a city set on a Hill.” Please take this responsibility to pray for our leaders seriously,…after all God says in 1 Timothy 2  , “First of all….”

Many of our faithful legislators who are planning for their campaigns cannot raise money during the legislative session.  I’m in Topeka during the legislative session and I see how hard these faithful men and women work.  I also know many of them personally and what some may realize is that they have to lay aside their regular jobs to represent you at the capitol.    I’ve been getting some invitations to give to them and I plan on doing my part to help them.

I would ask you to consider giving to them.  It’s such a sacrifice for them to go and fight for righteousness.  I know, I have testified for them and worked with them for moral issues.

The other thing we must do is pray for them. You’ll have a chance to pray with them in person on January 13th, their first day.  All day at the capitol at Prayer On The Hill.  They need for you to be there.  How long has it been since you’ve made a trip to the statehouse of Kansas.  You’ll be amazed at the majesty of it.  It’s filled with history of Kansas, but the most important fact is that it’s filled with prayer.  Plan on attending January 13th, at the Capitol, for Prayer On The Hill.  Let’s get as many people that we can praying for these men and women, our governor and our great state of Kansas.

Prayer on the Hill

This time of year, it’s easy to forget to mark your calendar for important events in January.  So…I’m here to remind you that we are looking for at least one person from each county in Kansas to attend Prayer on the Hill – which is the first day of the legislative session January 13th in Topeka.  Not only will we be praying for our legislators, but doing a prayer walk, hearing from Governor Brownback, but we will also be having a workshop to launch statewide prayer & fasting….yes you heard me right…a statewide fasting for righteousness in Kansas.

Many of you might not know that we have prayer in the capitol all day during the legislative session, and you will want to sign up to bring people from your area of the state to stand in the gap.  It’s a great opportunity to see the legislative process in action.  We pray in the committee hearings, the house and the senate.  Contact Donna for further information.

Prayer Conferences

I just returned from two powerful conferences.  The first conference I attended was in South Carolina called The Pastors and Pews Conference.  I heard Senator Ted Cruz, Pastor Laurence White, Bob McEwen spoke and still the message was there is Hope, and our HOPE is in the Lord.

In Indianapolis Dave Butts, Chairman of the National Prayer Committee, encouraged us saying “God has chosen to use prayer to change things on the planet.”

Kansas, it’s time to step it up.  As humbling as it is, He’s decided to use you and me.   Once again I’m asking you to mark your calendars for January 13th and come to Topeka and attend Prayer on the Hill.  We will be launching prayer and fasting for real change.

Prayer on the Hill

Prayer on the Hill is simply Christians coming to Topeka and praying at the capitol during the legislative session. We welcome Christians from across the state of Kansas from different churches and ministries. We walk through the capitol and seek the Lord for righteousness to rule here. If there are committee hearings, we ask that you attend them and sit in the back and pray. If the House or Senate is in session, please send part of your team to the Gallery to intercede for Truth (God’s will). Righteousness Shall Reign in Kansas
