Where Do You Pray?

The National Governors Prayer Team Conference began in Florida the day after the election.  As the Kansas Team Leader I attended and was very blessed to hear Doug Small teach for 3 days on prayer.  He was encouraging us as leaders to have prayer room in our home.  I have a few favorite places to pray around the house including a screened in porch in spring, summer and fall. However I was convicted to come home and set one designated spot in my home for prayer.

He was so right.  It’s now a place for me to just “BE with God… to renew, refresh, refocus, rest, regain, reclaim and most of all restore my intimacy with my Creator. It’s away from distractions.  I sense His presence so clearly as I sit at His feet. I would encourage you to “gift” yourself with a prayer room.

Next week Governor Brownback will have a Thanksgiving proclamation I’ll be sharing that next week. Also, don’t forget our weekly 15 min. prayer call each Tuesday morning at 6 a.m.  Last week’s was powerful and I would enourage you all to join.

To join us in prayer call Tuesdays at 6 a.m. and dial 559.726.1000 then enter code 205482#.

Christmas Prayer

Father as we continue to pray this Christmas day, we thank you for your Son, and for the gift of freedom in America.  We thank you for the freedom in Kansas to speak forth the gospel.  We ask that you will continually show us that we must stand in the gap and pray and stand against anyone who would deny us to present the gospel or to display a nativity, the 10 commandments, or to pray.

Father, we pray for the nations that deny freedom of the gospel.  We pray that Pastor Saeed will be freed from prison in Iran. We pray that you would equip your people to be strong in our faith, to unite, and to represent You on this earth.
We pray that you would be glorified in our lives, and that the sacrifice of this precious baby’s birth that we celebrate today, would inspire us to sacrifice for the sake of the children that you have entrusted to us.
May we have a Christ centered celebration that focuses on you and your Son,
May each moment we have together reflect your love toward each other in our families.
In Jesus we pray, Amen.
