Our celebration of the birth of Christ is very close. One of the most beloved Christmas songs is O Holy Night. For those of us on this side of the cross it’s hard to imagine looking, waiting, anticipating, and yet, we still do. We know Him and yet we long for His return. When the song says, the stars are brightly shining, I’d encourage you to go outside tonight, and take your children with you. Look up into the stars, they are amazing.
O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
