Cry Out America LOGO Cry Out America
Join with others to pray for our nation!  We will not forget the Twin Towers or Benghazi!
Gather at your court house, your prayer meetings or city buildings!

Although August brings the thoughts of school starting, it’s not far from the anniversary of 9.11.  I’m the state director for “Cry Out America,” a group that encourages all Americans to gather at their local court house on 9.11 to follow through with our commitment to “Never Forget.” Now is the time for you to prayerfully consider answering the call to organize your county.  In Kansas there are 105 counties and we would love for you to please consider doing this.

Cry Out America is patriotic, traditional, and Biblical.  Calling our nation to pray on this memorial of the horrific day when America was attacked on her own soil is essential. In addition to the twin towers, we also will never forget Benghazi. The Lord Jesus detests hands that shed innocent blood.  Join this historic prayer movement – Every state, every county, every church, every heart.

Repentance and Forgiveness In Wichita

On Sunday night, in the city of Wichita, a spiritually historic moment in time took place.  At the Reconciliation Service, pastors repented and asked forgiveness for all spiritual, mental, and emotional wounds caused by them.  They said, “please forgive us for not leading by example, being ‘men pleasers’ rather than pleasers of God, for not equipping you adequately to fulfill your call and for building our own kingdom. We seek your forgiveness for times we have fallen into immorality, greed, and pride.  Will you forgive and release us from these sins and from bondage they have placed us in?” Then a member of the congregation, representing all of us, asked forgiveness for times we withheld tithes and offerings, gossiped about pastors and their families, times we had not stood up for you, times we opposed your ideas without cause and for not praying for you as we should. Time will not allow me to convey the depth of what I witnessed on Sunday evening.  God’s grace fell and freedom reigns.

When we look at the culture and question why are things so bad, we need to look no farther than to the Body of Christ.

Therefore, in accordance with God’s Word, we need to humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and TURN for our evil ways.

Kansans will have an opportunity to do this as we join other states across the nation on 7/14/14. There will be a solemn assembly and day of fasting. Join with others in the body in the capitol city. Topeka at 7:14 a.m. on the north side of the capitol steps. We intend to cry out to the Lord for mercy.

It’s a day when you can come and go…at 8 a.m. we will enter the capitol.

We come to weep between the porch and the altar. Joel 2, “Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping and mourning; Rend your heart and not your garments. Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger abounding in loving kindness and relenting of evil.

A Compassionate Response to the Government Shutdown

A Compassionate Response to the Government Shutdown

by Beni Wilson, Culture Shield Network’s Guest Blogger

As most Americans know, our federal government has partially shut down due to political gridlock in Washington. In the midst of arguing over whose fault it is, we shouldn’t lose sight of a unique opportunity for the church and for the conservative movement. I believe that the government shutdown, along with sequestration cuts, give us the chance to show that the church and private charity can effectively take care of the  poor—without the help of government.[1]

The shutdown has caused several federal government programs to be temporarily suspended[2]. A key one that I would like to address here is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), which supplies pregnant mothers and mothers of young children with money to buy healthy food if they can’t afford it.[3] Similarly, the across-the-board spending cuts earlier this year (usually referred to as ‘the sequester’) also reduced government food assistance, especially for the Meals on Wheels program for seniors.[4] As a result, both WIC and Meals on Wheels are scaling back, decreasing government involvement in caring for the poor and elderly.

Many Americans—especially Christians, conservatives, and libertarians—believe  that social welfare services are best provided by private charity (including churches, extended family members, philanthropists, and charity organizations) and that the federal government should ideally have little to no involvement in that area. Furthermore, I’m sure that everyone, especially Christians, can agree that we should look out for the poor and provide them with food if they are unable to provide for themselves and we have the ability (Deut. 15:7-11).

NDP Prayercast 2013

National Day of Prayer offers a PRAYERCAST that you can host in your home or church or simply watch on your own home computer.

On October 18-19, the National Day of Prayer will broadcast the first 24-hour PrayerCast, featuring the foremost teachers on prayer to equip and mobilize via streaming video through a state-of-the-art webcast. The speakers are Dave Butts (President of National Prayer Committee), Ravi Zacharias, Franklin Graham, David Jeremiah, Joni Eareckson Tada, Beth Moore and many others. This special event will be FREE, but you are encouraged to form or a join a group in your area at a local prayer meeting or church assembly. The goal is to reach millions across the globe with the knowledge and understanding of prayer and its application.

In this day and age with technology, it’s possible to participate in an exciting prayer conference either from the comfort of your home, or gather your NDP team and spend the Saturday morning listening in real time to the greatest teachers on prayer. Many Kansas towns participate, and we want all communities to pray not only on the national day of Prayer, but all throughout the year to pray as a community for Kingdom purposes.
