Broken Covenants

The Body of Christ is engaged in praying and lifting up the Supreme Court to uphold the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman. What I see in America is a generation that is waiting until they are older to get married.  That in itself is not a concern, but the reason behind it might be. What is our generation modeling for our children and grandchildren in regard to a covenant relationship?  Has marriage been diluted because we are living in a culture of broken covenants?  We say we want to protect marriage.  We say, it’s been this way for thousands of years, and yet what are we modeling, and why is the next generation so afraid of hurt, pain and separation? As we pray for the legal protection of marriage between one man and one woman, let’s also pray that we, believers in Jesus Christ, will not break covenant in our marriages before the Lord.  Let us model love, forgiveness, humility, submission, honoring, respecting our spouses. Prayer changes things, Lord begin with us.

Most excellent. “Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex.” Message Bible 13:4

Evidence of the Marriage Covenant in the Old Testament…
Genesis 2:23-24: Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh”
